Naming Ceremony
Many people these days are opting for a Naming Ceremony instead of the traditional christening or baptism. Live harp music will definitely enhance this important occasion.
The Ceremony
A Naming Ceremony, (also known as a Child Naming Ceremony), is a non-religious event and has no legal status. It is most often conducted by a family member or a trained celebrant.
Beautiful Background Music
The Naming Day Ceremony usually only takes about 20 minutes, with the rest of the time being a party of celebration.
Background music performed live on the harp will greet your guests as they arrive. I can then play during readings in the ceremony, and afterwards while guests socialise with nibbles and drinks or at a sit-down meal.
My music is non-intrusive, so people can talk without having to compete with the music. The harp also has a soothing and relaxing effect on children and adults alike.
Personalised CD
I can put together a CD with a photo from the ceremony naming for you. This is a CD that your child can treasure for years to come. Harp music is very soothing so you can play it to help calm your child.
Soothing Harp Story
Several years ago I made up a tape of my harp music for a friend’s baby. One night when I was visiting, her baby wouldn’t settle, crying all the while. I suggested she play my music on her continuous-play tape player.
We were amazed at the result. Every time the tape played, no sound came from the bedroom. The moment the music stopped (because of the leader tape at each end), she cried then stopped when the music began again. This pattern continued for about an hour, until eventually she went to sleep.
